My debut short, between the breaths, comes a year after my Mom passed. Before she passed, she told me "take your time, be sad, then keep going" and to me, this is the first step of many in my task to keep going. Based off of true events, between the breaths, is a story that follows Justin after an exhausting shift at work who decides to smoke weed for the first time, not knowing what awaits in him in his first high. Full of whimsy and laughs, this to me embodies the idea that sometimes life gets so crazy, all you can do is laugh.

between the breaths had its world premiere at the New York Short Film Festival where it earned Best Short Film from the Jury as well as Best Comedy Short Film.
